The basics...

Welcome to our blog. Having friends who have taken a similar approach, we thought this would be a great way to keep our family and friends updated in this little journey. It will be much more fun come October when "bubbles" arrives, but for now, you can get a peek into our pregnancy and how fast this little one is growing and CHANGING our lives. The above photo is our little "bubbles" at 6 weeks 2 days...

The basics -

No - we were not trying to have a baby right now, but are super excited nonetheless

October 5, 2008 - "bubbles" estimated birthday

January 30, 2008 - the day we found out "bubbles" was on the way

Unknown - the date this will all sink in

"Bubbles" - if you haven't caught on, our nickname for the baby

South Bend - where we will be living soon (we are getting the condo ready for the wonderful housing market and will be trying to move in early summer)

Yes - I have been very sick since mid week 7... it has not been pleasant

Bagels, Grapes, OJ, Italian Beef, Starbursts, Hot Sauce, Oranges, ColbyJack Cheese, Fruit Salad - a few of my random cravings, which once satisfied, other than grapes bagels and oj, have immediately switched to aversions

Blue Cheese and currently everything else in the world- aversions thus far

Girl - the gender according the Chinese Gender Charts, but I have no strong feelings either way at this point

So, those are some of the basics. Week 8 has been a challenge, as I have come down with strep throat/bronchial infection/ nasty flu, which has been coupled with serious morning sickness. I don't know if NyQuil was something I was actually craving, but I can honestly say I have never wanted a drug that would fix my symptoms and put me to sleep so badly in my life. No, I did not take any. I have had a few cough drops, Tylenol to get my fever down, a baby-safe antibiotic (against my will), and I have been getting great use out of my new Netti Pot (thank you Aunt Dee for the suggestion). If you have never used a Netti Pot, I highly recommend it, although it is a bit disturbing to use. They are available at Walgreen's.
