Walking and Talking - SCT Edition

Sam has been officially walking for 2.5 weeks, but I am clearly behind on my blogging... by about 6 months! Yes, he did crawl too...Ha. He is also quite the little chatter bug... some of his many little words are
  • ball
  • bar (nutrigrain bar)
  • hotsa (what Henry called pizza until about a week ago)
  • choo choo
  • juice
  • cheese (refers to both the delicious dairy product and when holding a camera)
  • mama
  • dada
  • nana (refers to both the fruit and my mom)
  • dog
  • cat
  • yay
  • yes
  • this
There are more, but this is like a novel compared to Henry at 15 months... Speaking of Henry speaking, he has entered full on chatterbox at 2.5 years... and now we cannot get him to be quiet, but I love it! He is also doing so well with his colors, numbers (notice I didn't say counting because his numbers come in the most random order).

It is unreal how fast these boys are growing up.

Pictures and more blogging to come.

Here Sam Grows - Months 7 and 8

7 Month Baby

8 month baby

No "B's" Allowed

Now that our big boy (or I should say ig oy) has started talking more and more, we have realized that he has rejected the letter B, and a few other consonants for that matter. It is hilarious, and I am not quite sure how this aversion developed.... Examples -

Uncle Bryce = uh uh IIIIIIIICE

Bus = US (one of our 2 true loves right now)

Binker = inker

Bye Bye = uh-EYE

and so on...

The letter M seems to be on probation, and the only acceptable use of this letter is to express how delicious our food tastes (i.e. mmmmmmm) and, of course, to identify me, MA MA. However, other traditional uses of the letter, such as in the word "mouth," are strictly forbidden. Thus, the hole in our face containing teeth and surrounded by lips is referred to by our boy as OUF.

Funny

I am way behind on blogging... and hopefully I will catch up in the next few weeks since I will be home most weekends, but for now - a cute, but blurry, video of my boys today...

Rocking Out

...to the leap frog music table. Sweet.

Six Month Sammy Pants

At 6 months - Sam can sit up by himself... but he is a bit unstable at times. He loves to blow raspberries and chatter. He wants to crawl, and pulls himself all over the place, but has not mastered being up on all fours. Henry is his favorite person. Sam watches him all day long and screams and laughs to get his attention. He is still a bit of a fuss bucket, but the start of solid foods is easing that a bit. It does not help that he is getting 4 teeth up top at the same time right now. Those are in addition to the two on bottom. Naps are inconsistent, at best, and nighttime sleep is great, as long as he is in bed with us. He will sleep all night in his crib, but we have to get up several times to find a lovey or a binker for him... or flip him over. He is obsessed with solid foods... oatmeal is his favorite cereal, and he LOVES bananas, sweet potatoes and mixed veggies. Applesauce is a hit as well, but do not try to give the kid peas... that gets messy. We just introduced puffs this weekend, and he makes the funniest face asking for more. At 6 months, Sam weighed in at 16 lbs 8 oz... which is somewhere around the 40th percentile. He is tall, like Henry, clocking in at the 97th percentile for height. Tall, skinny baby!
